I want YOU—to follow my blog! :-)

This is an open call for all bloggers to create interesting “invitations” for readers to follow them. Here are some guidelines:

—Title of the work: “I want YOU – to follow my blog” (but can also be -to follow me on twitter, -to read my RSS, or whatever, but has to be about blog/site). Don’t forget to include URL of your blog too!

—Photo/Video/Audio: Experiment! It does not matter if you’re “an artist” or simply like having fun in MS Paint or Photoshop CS4, Movie Maker or Premiere. Create something cool, that’s all!

—Upload to your blog, and send a tweet:
I want YOU—to follow my blog! **your link here** Create your own! See guidelines at http://bit.ly/3WBLve #iwantyou

Don’t forget the hashtag #iwantyou, so that we can track everyone :)

Have fun!

I just love pixels! :-) Even used to do some pixel art back in highschool. Now that I’m a photographer, this might be a good alternative to pixel-by-pixel drawings.

I’d love to see how this looks printed on large format Cibachrome, or even backlit, that would be just awesome. Might try that out one day…

Rise Against—Hero Of War.

Roma kids portrait update. This girl looked rather strange, a bit frightened but still in a mood for posing. Arms crossed like that could mean ‘defense’, and looking at the environment… well, it just confirms the emotion, at least for me. The huge billboard in the background strikes me the most, almost giving that ‘red-light-district’ atmosphere.

Then I look at her ‘protecting’ her stomach…
What’s your impression?

Carpenters—Sometimes.

Sometimes not often enough
We reflect upon the good things
And those thoughts always
Center around those we love

And I think about those people
Who mean so much to me
And for so many years have made me
So very happy

And I count the times
I have forgotten to say, thank you
And just how much I love them
For all of my dear friends! :D
Portrait of a boy from the Roma settlement in Belgrade. I feel like the whole setting here goes very well with his character—the lighting, his haircut, shorts and the background—creating a very positive atmosphere, which is indeed how I remember him.

Lorena McKennitt—The Highwayman. Lyrics (or better say, story!).

Another gypsy girl portrait from under the Gazela bridge in Belgrade. Different from the previous one, this girl has that ‘exotic’ look in her eyes, which is also reflected on her dress, her posture, the background and the overall purplish tone.

Portrait of a girl from Roma settlement under Gazela bridge in Belgrade. This is the first picture in series of portraits of Roma children. I hope to capture the image they have about themselves. I want to let them pose, to ask them to put on their most favorite clothes, makeup, or whatever. To give them a chance to create that image, as the opposite of me sneaking and stealing my own.

We’ll see how far this will go…

A couple of gypsy photos from under the Gazela bridge in Belgrade. Was an insanely hot day, around 40 degrees. It was this gypsy baptising after-party which I joined with my friend Matt Lutton.
As you can see, I’m playing with informal kind of pictures. Hangin’ out and then pop one or two. I just like it that way.

Oh, there’s another gyspy photoset: http://blog.darkostanimirovic.com/post/134247378/roma-settlement-mirijevo
